SERIES FOUR is about in 1930’s Berlin, simply after the Golden Twenties culminated within the international inventory market crash and the Nice Melancholy – and the Nazis’ march to energy is in full swing. The story centres on detective Gereon Rath (Volker Bruch), and his bold colleague Charlotte Ritter (Liv Lisa Fries). As Gereon’s investigations lead him into the boxing milieu – and politically, uncomfortably near Hitler’s militant supporters – Charlotte dangers her job to assist her homeless sister, who roams the streets of Berlin with a gaggle of younger friends, preventing for survival.
